It was a shock to those who watched it including me though i watched it once.So i think the reason that show was cancelled is because they removed the element from season 1 the 'How we got there' part (refer it from tvtrope :http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HowWeGotHere)
Without it the shows title name remains a artifact title (refer it here:http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main.ArtifactTitle) and was the reason why the show was cancelled or maybe it should have been cancelled after season one.
